Applicant’s will be awarded points for age, education, language skills, skilled work experience, and many other factors, and each criteria will be given a ranking score. CIC will conduct a preliminary selection of those enrolled, after which it will create a “pool” of potential candidates. In order to be become a member of the “pool”, you must also prove that you have already satisfied two important conditions: You have successfully passed a language test and have obtained an educational credential assessment (ECA) from a Canadian institution accredited by the CIC.
Once CIC reviews applicant’s selection criteria and scores it, if applicant has sufficient points of interest to CIC, they will review, select and invite candidate to apply for Permanent Residence. An applicant can get additional points for a Job offer supported by LMIA or a nomination by a province or territory. These additional points will make a candidate rank high enough to be invited to apply at the next eligible draw of candidates.
Applicant will then have 60 days to submit a full application.
